NDT Inspection &
Testing Quality Manager Appointed European Sector Representative
for Nadcap
Paul
Evans, quality manager at NDT
Inspection & Testing, has been appointed one of only
two European sector representatives on the recently restructured
Nadcap supplier support committee. The appointment is for
two years and aims to support the supplier community to understand
and manage the stringent requirements involved in obtaining
Nadcap approval and to improve supplier communications and
awareness of Nadcap compliance requirements.
Nadcap is the international programme which allows industry
oversight of the quality control and fitness for purpose of
specific manufacturing processes and products in the aerospace
sector, with the objective of developing a world-class special
processor supply base for the global aerospace industry. By
means of specific task groups, it covers special processes
from coatings to composites and from heat treatment to welding
and integrity testing. NDT Inspection & Testing recently
became the first Supplier Voting Member in the UK to the Non-Destructive
Testing task group and is one of only three throughout Europe,
enabling direct representation to be made to the major aircraft
manufacturers worldwide on a range of quality issues that
a affect all industry suppliers in this demanding field.
In his new appointment, Paul Evans will represent the interests
of all members of the supplier community, in all task groups
in Europe, and work with the Nadcap Management Council to
enhance the effectiveness and economic value of the Nadcap
system for the mutual benefit of suppliers and primes. As
Paul explains, "NDT
Inspection & Testing places great value on its Nadcap
Merit status and my new appointment is demonstration of the
company's total commitment to quality in general and to the
Nadcap programme in particular.
NDT
Inspection & Testing is one of the UK's largest independent
inspection service providers and a centre of excellence for
radiographic, advanced ultrasonic imaging and a wide range
of more traditional inspection services using state-of-the-art
solutions to inspection problems. It has recently been awarded
Merit status for its NDT operations in its Northern, Central
and Southern UK sites. This extends the interval between audits
and is widely acknowledged as an endorsement of a company's
quality performance commitment to its customers. The company
is also UKAS-approved to ISO EN 17025 and has quality approvals
from a number of major aerospace companies, including Airbus,
Boeing, Raytheon, Rolls Royce, MBDA, BAE Systems and their
prime contractors.
